Alhambra Hotel

Very friendly and helpful staff, and check-in was a breeze. Room was spotlessly clean, but about the size of a train compartment. The bathroom is almost too small to navigate. One small, flat pillow is really not enough for an adult. The nice big windows that allowed in light and fresh air made really helped the situation from becoming claustrophobic. Location is fantastic but the tiny room is going to drive you insane should you stay for longer than one night.

Good for the value. VERY small rooms but clean and comfortable for quick stays when you are on a budget. Very convenient location next to Kings Cross train station where we were catching the Eurostar to Paris.

Only slightly better than a youth hostel. The toilet and shower are in the hall and the toilet is smaller than on a plane.

Chose his solely for the proximity to St Pancras station and it didn't disappoint. The price and convenience suited the otherwise lackluster decor and amenities but it was clean and the staff was helpful. The room is small but that was a non issue for us.

My husband and I landed very early so we dropped off out luggage and wandered around town untill 1PM, the time we were told to return to check in. We arrived at 1 and were given our key and walked up the endless stairs to the top floor, looking forward to a long overdue nap, only to find the room still a mess from the previous guests. Dirty towels and dishes, used bedding, etc. We went back downstairs and were told to just drop off our stuff and it would be about an hour. So I am now slouched against the wall in the hallway waiting because I am too exhausted to do much else but sitting on some stranger's recently used bedding is not appealing.

Edited: An hour and a half later I am still waiting for them to start cleaning the room.

Clean. That's about all I can say. The stairs are narrow and hard to navigate with luggage. The rooms are tiny, I'm talking 9m2 or less. No toilet, no shower in room. Shower and toilet are down the hall and communal. Heater didn't work in our room. All things told I'm pretty disappointed. I would consider this more of a hostel if not for the price.

B&B in King's Cross/Bloomsbury on a quiet side street across from St Pancras where you can hop on the Eurostar to Paris. It is also close to the Piccadilly Line which takes you to Heathrow and to many London sites. Our room was comfortable and sparkling clean and the English breakfast was generous and made to order. If you don't want to trek outside in the morning for breakfast I suggest you ask for a room in the main building since there are also rooms available in a building across the street. Also there are no elevators and the stairs are pretty narrow but you can request a room on the main or on the first floor (which would be the second floor in the US.) Our ensuite room was down a few steps from the ground floor and faced a quiet courtyard. This is a family owned hotel and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were so surprised when they opened the kitchen and made breakfast for us even though we were leaving at the crack of dawn!

Okay, let's be honest, this is not a five star hotel, but this place exceeded my expectations and I would happily stay here again - so a 5 full stars.. My mom and I were coming in for a night from Paris via the Eurostar and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a place, since we were already paying for a night in our Paris apartment. I paid 99 pounds for a two single bed room with private bathroom.

The first great thing about this hotel is it's location. It's right across the street from St. Pancras and King's Cross stations. It was great that we didn't have to waste time getting from the train to the hotel and vice versa on the way back. It's also great because Kings Cross has a tube station making it super convenient to get around.

Check in was easy, and the lady at reception was very lovely. To our surprise our room was ready so we could go in, drop our bags and freshen up before hitting the town. The room was tiny, but clean and had a nice flat screen TV, a closet and a kettle for making tea (and instant coffee).

Breakfast is included so in the morning they will serve you up a full English breakfast or a continental breakfast depending on what you chose, along with all the toast you could want.

They stored out bags for us for the day after checking out and were nice enough to let us add things to it after I did a bit too much shopping to handle carrying around.

Oh, I forgot to mention, but wifi is included in the room rate, which is awesome.

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting an inexpensive spot in London, and it really is convenient if your are coming in via Paris.

Love this B&B. Great complementary breakfast from 7-9. Best British breakfast I've had. Cosy room with comfortable bed. Amazing location! Would definitely stay again, I wish we had booked more than 1 night here!

Stayed here one night due to its being thisclose to st. Pancras to catch a 7 am Eurostar train to Paris. Nice enough area there are a couple of pubs, a Chinese restaurant , grocery and a real good fish and chips shop North Sea nearby. Room itself is just OK. Small, very spartan, and clean. Not much else to say, except I wouldn't want to stay here more than one night
