Wonderful traditional food & super friendly/casual atmospheric beer garden in a former hunting lodge... well-spaced outdoor picnic tables some within area with canvas roof... As well as many picnic tables for several hundred people outside ... plus indoor seating

Typical well run, beloved-by-locals beer garden

In fact, it feels like a regional park with so many trees and picnic tables well spaced out... warning = the German obsession for smoking before, during and after a meal is an issue with us Californians ... the fact that it's outdoors under a bunch of large trees, as well as with considerable light breeze capability, and well-spaced tables means you don't have to deal with your neighbors' vapung or smoking habit/addiction ...

What also makes this a wonderful, friendly atmosphere is the fact that it is so family-friendly as are all beer gardens that we ever have experienced in Germany... Kids of all ages mixed up with each other, with their friends and with their families (and occasionally their grandparents and even aunts/uncles... it seems like the majority of people are small groups of several couples with odd singles mixed with them

Schweine Hacksen perfectly grilled with the right amount of skin to crack.

Spargel (white asparagus) was delicately steamed perfectly, Services very friendly standard price... The sauce was very fresh to my wife totally enjoyed it along with the chicken noodle dumplings ... note that this delicacies that *all* Germans go crazy for is usually only available during his growing season of May

The ham that was the side dish (beilage) of the spargel course was delicious

Parking is usually a challenge here, but if you persist, you might find a spot on the street around this huge restaurant

Pilsner beer was okay but a bit too bitter and crisp for me (not my kind of beer anyway), but lagers were good. Schnitzel "Munich style" and Wiener schnitzel were good. Pork roast was okay; the meat wasn't anything unique, but the potato dumplings were amazing. Cabbage salad was delicious. Apple strudel dessert was very rich and creamy, and the ice cream was warm, not cold, which seemed intentional, but I would've preferred cold refreshing ice cream to balance out the heavy strudel!

I would like to rate them a 3.5 but I don't have that capability. They have an enormous outside garden to eat in and the restaurant is in a very nice building that is authentic and decorated nicely. We had a group of 9 for dinner and service was handled very well. The food was ok. I had the Schnitzel and it was breaded a little heavy and the meat was a little thin. As a tourist in Munich, I loved the environment and enjoyed the service.

I was honestly expecting more from the service and good standard. It was pricey but the standard wasn't great. I didn't like my food. And the waitress was being somehow racists toward my family and I. Anyway we still tip her for her effort to explain the menu.

For the sake of customer service, the staffs should be more friendly and smile more often (even if they don't like their customers).

I ordered the Roasted Pork in dark beer sauce with red cabbage. It was delicious! The meal was a tad salty for my taste but I'm also used to a low sodium palate so it may just be how food is prepared in Germany in general. Overall, great ambience, great food, great service. They had an English menu available in addition to the German menu so that helped my group tremendously. I tried their Oktoberfest beer--two thumbs up!

On my last night in Munich before returning to the States and after a few too many beers and a delicious meal at Augustiner I managed to drop my wallet. Not knowing where I had left it and not having the time to retrace my steps, I wrote it off as a lost cause. On my arrival back at home I received an email from Augustiner, letting me know that they had found my wallet and I could come to retrieve it. As I was unable to do this, Augustiner graciously shipped my wallet back to the US. I am more than thankful for this and will definitely be visiting Augustiner on my next trip to Munich for a few beers and to give my thanks! Top notch service, great beer, and great people. Thank you!

Traditional beer garden and food conveniently located adjacent to the train station. The service was cheerful and friendly. The food was all quite adequate. Sadly, they ran out of the duck, which was delicious, so I only got to try a bite from my colleague. The beer was abundant and very good.
