The owner was quite kind to me and indulged me in conversation about Japan, all the while leaving me free to leisurely smell the wall of tins. He even offered me a freshly steeped cup as soon as I stepped in and gave me a candied praline. Moreover, I felt no hairy eyeball on me as one might in the more touristy Mariage Frères.
As for price (I see the shop is unfairly marked '€€€'), 26 euros for two tins is reasonable for any respectable tea salon - and should you still guard your pockets, just give the tea a whiff and remain unchanged: I dare you. I particularly liked his blend 'Sur Le Nile' ('On the Nile'): rooibus with heady peach, myrrh-like fig, and swathy pomegranate. I haven't been to Egypt, but with this tea I might at least pretend.
