FYI: They MOVED, But Only a half block North.
New Location is at 480 King St, so the 468 King St. spot is now Permanently closed.
I'll write a more detailed review with the new site, but I'll summarize here.
The new place is a little more up-scale. It has more taps and new food menu is more ritzy.
A certain plus is the different areas, downstairs, upstairs, and back patio. The old place would get really loud being just one big room.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 19831417052014年7月22日
Maury is the MAN!
I'm an old school wing guy....crunchy, Frank's, butter, etc.
However, a few weeks ago, Maury (barkeep) suggested Beerworks' "signature" hot sauce. The sauce is as good as it gets. *Jalapenos is the only ingredient they'll admit to. This sauce is hot, truly unique, and addictive.
Mondays are 1/2 price wing night. This Charleston staple is a must for locals who wan to chill, watch a game, and smash some wings.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Caty C.Charleston, アメリカ合衆国1524042442016年1月21日
Came for a VIP Beer & Food Pairing event last night and wasn't very impressed.
We were greeted by friendly staff, but apart from our arrival, the rest of the event was very disorganized. The food and beers paired together were spread out all over the facility. Ie: Beer Braised Shrimp on the first floor paired with a [Local Brewery] Pilsner upstairs in the corner.
Would have liked to see food directly next to or with their paired beer.
Empty plates and glasses were everywhere- there was no place to put them when finished and the clean-as-you go cleanup by staff was slow to happen.
I really enjoyed speaking with the brewery staff and enjoyed the beers featured by them-- but those beers weren't on the provided beer & food pairing card. Some breweries/beers weren't even present :((
I'm a very big fan of craft beer and festivals so perhaps I was expecting to much. However, it appeared my fellow patrons were just as lost as I was.
I can see stopping in for a beer one day if I'm in the area, but certainly won't plan a visit.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tres P.Ashburn, アメリカ合衆国50044242015年10月3日
This place is a great deal for happy hour, I wish they would just fully embrace the fact that they are a dive bar though.
The food is always good for bar food and the apps are typically big enough to share. I've only gotten entrees a few times but I've never been disappointed.
The beer selection is good and they seem to have a good rotation of local beers with a lot cheap options on tap as well. The PBRs during happy hour are crazy cheap and the beer is always cold.
If you're not a local regular do not expect to be greeted warmly or to be remembered when you walk in for the 5th or 6th time. I think you have to pay a large portion their mortgage before they bother to learn your name.
This brings me back to my first sentence. Listen: stop acting like your a fancy draft house, you aren't. Your bar stools are not the same hight, you ignore people who don't come in every day and based on a number of conversation I've overheard from the college kids this is "a great place to get really drunk really cheap".
To paraphrase Tropic Thunder: You're a dive bars, be a dive bar!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0ビジネスオーナー情報

This place has potential to be the best sports bar in Charleston, but not until they seriously up their food game.
Went here on a Saturday night with some friends to watch football. The new space is gorgeous; they did an awesome job with the buildout. It's split between 2 levels, which makes each space feel more intimate, and is helpful to give you a better view of all the TVs. There is also supposedly an outdoor patio, but I haven't been there. It is a sports bar, and there are large, new TVs all over the place. Definitely a good spot to watch a game.
The beer selection is pretty good, with a long list of local draft beers. Beers came out relatively quickly given how crowded it was, and they had a nice head and were cold... What more can you want? Prices are reasonable ($6 for a local pint).
Where they need serious improvement is on the food. They make wings the center of their menu, however their wings were just not good. Ordered medium buffalo wings, and they were so dry and barely had any buffalo sauce / flavor. Asked the waitress for a side of sauce, and basically got a cup of grease with a drop of buffalo. The burger was a mess, and didn't have any of the special sauce per the menu. Fries (which are a $2.50 up charge with a burger) took 25 mins to arrive after we got the rest of our food, and were wayyyyyyy over salted.
I'll go back, the beers and bar/TV are too nice not to, but only for drinks after going somewhere else for food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0ビジネスオーナー情報

During happy hour, they have $2 PBR, $3 well drinks, and $4 local beers.
Their well drinks were pretty generous and they had all of the local games on the T.V. The bartenders were polite, though not necessarily friendly, but it was a pretty chill place nevertheless.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - LTine M.Warrenville, アメリカ合衆国2429232011年3月15日
We went during happy hour which lasts until 8PM. They had a plethora of beers which were $2 and the apps were 2 for 1. So our bill was pretty inexpensive.
They also have shuffleboard, ski ball, air hockey as well as other arcade games to add extra excitement to your drinking and dining experience.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2014年7月8日
I've been to this place in the past for drinks and thought it was so so. My friends and I decided to come to it to watch a game. It was during the week, we got there early and grabbed a table. We are all in our mid 30's with good jobs= have money to spend. First, I got carded to enter the place at 3pm. Ok, yay I guess? I have the young gene. Then, as a couple of friends of mine are inside with 3 places to sit for our friends to join us after work, one of our friends can't get inside. The place isn't even that packed, and all the kids in there were probably right at 21 or younger with a fake id. I go outside to wait with my friend (dressed up from after work). It's hot outside... and sweaty. If I had known this, I would have insisted on going to another favorite away from college row. I did have a good Nars lipstick to get my other friend in. (I'm aged, been there, done that, you could learn a few things from my generation). Had I not had my Nars, my other friend never would have gotten in. I feel there could have been a better system (like I could tell the bouncer dude: we are expecting 2 and have seats for them both)... click click, friends arrive, no harm no foul.
Then, inside I ordered some food and drinks. Waiting... waiting... no return from the waitress... waiting.. waiting... other people get food... waiting... waiting, other people get drinks, my pitcher is empty... waiting.... waiting: oh hey, how long until my food come out? "I forgot to put your order in" You put my friends pretzel order in, but somehow forgot mine? Wow, you guys must be understaffed. If I were a waitress and saw an older crowd, I would not screw up their order. Especially when I will tip over 20% to someone who is busting their butt and yet still give me good service.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 2012年5月28日
This place was pretty awesome...fantastic beer selection and good service. They have great happy hour specials. My husband and I both had burgers and they were some of the best we have ever had- apparently the meat is ground in-house. Try the homemade green tomato pickles- OMG! If I could have bought a jar of those things I would have- they were absolutely wonderful Would return for sure!!

Looks like they do trivia on monday nights.
They have happy hour from 5-8 everyday, $2 pints, and 2 for 1 apps
All you can eat crab legs on tuesdays for $21.95
