Super bummed this place closed down, as they sold fabulous boots made in the EU/UK with only the top quality standards in mind. Also, they sold custom widths - for slim or wide calves. I still love and wear the pair I purchased and imported from across the pond back in 2013, and have plans to tailor them now that I've been slimming down. ProTip: purchase the Woly conditioning leather cream to accompany your leather boot purchase(s). :-)

OK, shoe stores are a dime a dozen, and trends change more frequently than Friends is on the TV. But this store is a diamond in the rough!
I hear more often than not friends who cannot buy boots because their calves are too big, and should they finally find something that fits it is terrible quality. Duo Boots have a variety of sizes for both the width of your feet as well as the measurement of your calves. And I am not talking about "skinny girl" boots over here and "big girl" boots over there- of which they look completely different.
Duo Boots have a great selection that fit al women, no matter how thick/thin your legs are. Full stop.
They also employ great staff who are fast and helpful.
I will be passing out their business cards to friends, as well as putting a lovely (And comfortable!) pair on my Birthday wish list.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patty L.North York, カナダ1851623062010年8月24日1番にレビュー!
I have fat calves. There - I said it.
No matter what shoe store I go to in North America I resign myself that I will never be able to fit into boots at any store because they won't zip up past my ankles.
And then I found Duo Boots! Not only do they make fashionable shoes and boots in all kinds of widths, they carry 21 different calf sizes for girls with narrow calves, and fat calves! The concept is so simple that it's genius! Beautifully made leather boots that fit my fat calves - who would have thought?!
The fitting room on Saville Row carries all of their styles and sizes, but no actual stock. You come in to be measured and try on all the shoes and boots you like and then have them ordered (or you can order them yourself from their website). Then they are either shipped to the store for you to pick up, or for a reasonable fee they are shipped to you at home. The Malmo style is very practical for Canadian winters - the rubber sole prevents slipping on ice.
I usually buy from Duo when I'm staying in the UK, but if you need to have shoes shipped to North America it's about $25 per pair. It's a small price to pay to have boots that FIT.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Heather L.Swanley, ロンドン, イギリス22410312702012年5月3日
If I had the money, I'd probably have a pair of boots from Duo. Just in case you are not aware of Duo's concept... let me explain. The stores are merely a place to scope out the shoes, try them on, get measured, and then purchase your boots to be delivered to you. The idea of a customized boot is fantastic, especially for those of us with a large calf. Saves us the embarrassment of trying on boots and trying to get the zipper up past our calf only to get part way up, then trying to get the boots off.
The store is nice and large with plenty of seating space. They do sell other types of shoes, not just boots. The staff were very helpful, except that one of the ladies I was with already had a pair of their boots on and was asking about the stains and discolouring of the leather. She had pre-treated them and they were still a little unsightly. Even though they had bottles of what looked like cleaner/leather treatment/conditioner for sale, no one had any solutions or suggestions for her.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jinny N.ロンドン, イギリス2720272013年12月20日更新されたレビュー
I love my boots from here, so you can imagine my distress when my zip broke on one of them. I've had these boots since my last review and they have been heavily worn! Determined that they could be saved, I emailed customer services and I got a speedy response. They would be happy to help me with the repair. They use Collect+ so sending the boots back was very easy and much cheaper than Royal Mail. As my other boot looked like the same thing might happen to that one I asked to have both zips replaced, it cost £45 and £5 for delivery back. Bargain for a difficult repair and to save my much loved boots! The whole process took a couple of weeks. The customer services team are amazing. They are so helpful! Can't wait for another excuse to go buy and another pair of boots from here.

I've had to change my walk to the office to avoid looking into their window to avoid feeding my footwear addiction!2011年1月6日以前のレビューI love shoes, boots and shopping! What I can't stand is going to shoe shops. Walking around with one shoe on trying to find a place to quickly perch and try on some shoes, getting all flustered when the shoe/boot that presented itself to you offered the promise of being the perfect companions only to be let down that the fit is all wrong or that awful moment you can't get the zip of the boot up your calf. I've also been on the other side and worked in a shoe shop which is horrid, so I always feel for shop assistants who have to rush back and forth finding you the right size.
I've been on the hunt for black flat boots for ages, being wary of the equestrian style that is all the rage at the moment, it's not that I don't like that style but I have few horsey friends and I'm definitely a city person. Having been disappointed by my usual hunting grounds for boots I realised I walk past Duo boots when I go to work. Always being intrigued by their range of calf widths and shoe sizes I thought why not have a look.
The London store is not a shop it is a fitting room, which means you can't walk away from the shop with pair(s) of boots and shoes you place your order and have them delivered to you (no more battling your way home with a massive bag!). It's also a web based company so the theory is once you've been measured you can simple order online.
The great thing about this shop is you have to wait to be served as each assistant only serves one person at a time which means yes you have to wait but you do get very good customer service. They make sure that everything fits perfectly and ask the golden question with boots do you want to wear them with or without stuffing your jeans into them which does make a big difference to the fit. I did get a bit upset with the prospect of having what I think are chunky calves but the assistant was very diplomatic and said I simply have muscular ones! Big tick!
My order was placed and I requested to have them delivered to the store as my office is around the corner. Despite all the snow (I went in December) they arrived the next day! I was also given to the opportunity to try them on again and have a walk about in them.
All in all a great shopping experience and will definitely go back when my next boot quest comes about. - Winnie A.サンフランシスコ, アメリカ合衆国2422352013年7月11日
The sales lady here was very nice and helpful.
Each style has 20 different calf sizes so you will definitely find a pair that fits you the best. I have really skinny legs (read chicken legs!) so buying flattering boots can be challenging. But when I was on a work trip in London, my coworker introduced me to this amazing place!
They measured my calves and gave me my sizes for different materials on a size card. I couldn't resist and picked up a couple pairs! But trust me, these are good quality boots that will last you a long time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (KatBro…)ロンドン, イギリス5578282010年10月20日
It's a running joke in my family that the first sign of winter is me saying "This year, I'm absolutely going to get some boots". I've been looking for the perfect ones for four years now. Four cold, boot-less years. I'm very tall, so most high street boots only come up to the middle of my shins, or they're too flapping around the ankle, or they're just overpriced and crap quality.
So on Sunday, I went into Duo, where I'd had great success with shoes before, and jumped the queue (tip: if it's busy, stand by the glass table at the cash register - that's the queuing point, but most people don't realise that until they've been queue jumped) and told the charming blonde sales girl that I couldn't actually leave until I'd found the right boots.
She pulled out some really fantastic boots for me to try on, knowing exactly which ones would come higher up my leg (I ended up with a pair of over knee boots that came to exactly under my giant's knee) and I was so thrilled with how totally amazing the boots made my legs look that I ended up ordering two pairs rather than just the one I'd intended. Whoops.
The first pair have arrived today, three days after I ordered them and a whopping four days ahead of schedule - hurrah! The others will take 4-6 weeks as they don't have my specific measurements in stock, but I'm more than happy to wait given that it's taken me four whole years to find the bloody things. Cinderella has nothing on me - glass slippers in winter? Idiot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (harpra…)ロンドン, イギリス31322009年5月22日
The sales assistants are very friendly, helpful, and patient! It's a great place and when I was there there were several groups of friends all trying on different boots, all which fitted their calves perfectly - and all having a great time.
I tried on several kinds of boots and the sales assistant knew from my measurements and preferences just what would suit and fit me. I eventually chose a pair, and since I was actually on holiday, they had the boots sent in to this fitting room instead of to my address to save me 20 quid in postage.
And the boots are great quality. Excellent value for money! I'll be buying more.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ning N.New Hyde Park, アメリカ合衆国0542015年10月19日
Went in to this Duo shop on a recent trip to London on a weekday morning, it was not crowded. I've heard about Duo's attention to boot fit and they have lovely designs. I was ready to purchase a few pairs for myself. But the sales girls on the floor are HORRIBLE! They looked at me sideways like I couldn't afford the boots and when I politely asked for help, one of them (with short hairstyle) told me to "wait in line" in an irritated fashion. Like I was supposed to know where the line began, it was my first time in there.

Great place to buy knee high boots as they measure your calf and ankle width and have loads of different combinations to fit.
If you have big or small calves and have despaired of buying boots then this is the place to go.
They have a big range and the staff are very friendly and you're not made to feel freakish at all.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
