Holiday Inn Hotel Birmingham City Centre

We were here for a book signing and that part of the event was lovely, but when we tried to have food downstairs, we had to wait TWO HOURS for food, and they threatened to charge us if we left to actually get food elsewhere. When we complained that we were starving, the manager disappeared and refused to speak to us for over 20 minutes until they magically produced the food, which wasn't even correct, and barely apologized. WORST SERVICE EVER and absolutely zero customer service. They did not care at all.

Really close to the train station, bit of a concrete monstrosity from the outside, but nice on the inside. My room was some kind of 'pod' thing, with a really comfy 3/4 size bed, some fancy modern art on the walls, a plasma screen tv and a compact but clean and modern bathroom.


Really enjoyed my stay here even though it was for business - the food was good and everything was reasonably priced. There's a convenience store less than 2 minutes' walk away for those who get the munchies late at night.

I stayed here four nights on business. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the wifi was the fastest and most useful I've found in any hotel in years!

My one complaint was the state of the shower as it did not drain properly (at all), however I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for 1 night following a friend`s stag day/night in Birmingham.
The hotel is situated right in the center of town, very handy for all the night spots.
There is a bar in the hotel where you can sit out on the balcony and watch the world go by below you.
Rooms are ver clean and basic, though they have everything you would expect them to have.
Most of the staff where Eastern Europeans and where very friendly and helpful when I couldn`t remember where my room was after the day & night long celebrations!

Basic Holiday Inn, very nice front desk staff. Note - restaurant is closed Sundays, for some unfathomable reason. Right across from the Chinatown area, tons of great restaurants nearby (including French, Italian, Continental.) If you are a club member, you will have to request a moring paper delivery. A bit noisy, so get a high floor. Otherwise perfectly fine.
