A friend recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. We had a new waitress in her 3rd day on the job and she was fantastic.
The food was very good. It's supposedly Mexico City style rather than the Sonoran style typical in Tucson.
I'd come back! You should try it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tracy L.Tallahassee, アメリカ合衆国1750822024年3月26日
We went due to the look of the pictures online and because it was close to the house. OOOPS...never again!
We ordered a cheese crisp and when he bought it the first thing our eyes saw was the HUGE BURNT BLACK crust more than 1/2 of the tortilla was black. It was super funny when I asked the waiter if he would eat it, he said well, "I would just take the burnt part off" I asked him if he thought it was OK to deliver a cheese crisp like that. He said verbatim, "I really didn't notice it" I cracked up so hard that I was crying, then my daughter started and then her friend who was with us started cracking up! This server made the three of us cry! It was great! A good hearty laugh is great for the soul! I was not able to get a photo of the crisp, we laughed to hard then he took it away right away!
I ordered cheese enchiladas and my beans were no where near hot, neither was my meal, it was warm, at best...my daughter ordered only the cheese crisp for her meal, they did bring us another one that done perfectly! Gigi, ordered the cheese, the chorizo and the steak. a $42 dinner and she had to wait extra long for her steak to be done the waiter told us! We laughed our asses off at that too, Gigi ordered a RARE steak! LOL...wait longer? Why?
I cannot recommend this restaurant, our waiter said he was new only 2 weeks in and he was not trained well at all, he seemed to be very cocky, almost arrogant and it was a huge turnoff...The management should train servers better and teach them they need to WORK for their tips. wtf is wrong with servers thinking if they give shit service they will still be tipped, I did tip him, Gigi did not, can you blame her...waited extra long for a rare steak??? Still laughing at that one! LMAO! The food at best was mediocre, it was obvious from the first dish that was brought out the the kitchen didn't give a flying F that the meals were being presented badly. I cannot stand places that do not cater to their patrons. I suggest go elsewhere, I would suggest Guadalajara Grill, but I just read a health report that said they had many health violations in the kitchen, so NOPE, I suggest you stay home and cook your own meal, you'll know your hands are washed, your own service cant be beat and the meals you cook will be done so with care and done well.
***This review was written in opinionnaire format with a IDGAS attitude...I am a pissed consumer who feels if I go out to a place and spend my money, I feel as if ! should be treated nicely, and if it is a meal, then i better have great service and a good, tasty, fulfilling, and HOT meal. For me, this restaurant is so bad in so many ways.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2024年3月29日
Server TJ greet us at the front door, seated us in our choice of booth, and turned out to be our waiter for the evening. He was very friendly, personable, and attentative. Food came out of the kitchen quickly (restaurant not busy yet) and presentation good, but the shrimp enchiladas were very skimpy on the amount of diced shrimp for the price... no value here. Iced teas for $4.00 high in comparison to any other restaurant. Ambiance just okay... this older establishment could use some sprucing up and updating.

I had dinner here yesterday with three friends. I ordered the Burrito #51 with chicken ($17.99); it came with refried beans, rice and a small salad. Everything was tasty, though the shredded chicken was a bit dry. There was enough that I took half of the burro home and had it for lunch today. Prices are higher than at most local Mexican restaurants. They offer a 10% discount for seniors, though I had to ask twice to get the discount. The place is decorated like a traditional Mexican restaurant. Service was good, aside from the waiter forgetting about the senior discount.

Tonight, this was so disappointing
We ordered our drinks 3 x my drink order was wrong, ok I grew up in Tucson joying this restaurant. I'm here visiting family, and I thought I wanted LA Parrilla
Not only was my drink order wrong, but our meals (two of them) were not prepared right, and mine had a screw in it.

I have been coming to this location for decades! Today it was horrible. Probably will never return. Too many good places around. Thank goodness the Oracle location is still good. Ordered enchiladas and Alhambra beef taco. The enchilada sauce tasted like it was out of a can. Terrible. The tortilla for the taco was burned. Too charred. So bitter. This location stopped using bacon in the Alhambra taco and it was smoked ham or Canadian bacon. There were no green peppers and a few onions. They did not cook the meat on the flat top to caramelize the meat. So the meat had no flavor at all. It looked pale and tasted pale.
Ugh. So disappointing.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 02015年12月26日以前のレビューAlways enjoy it here. Service is always an unknown. Sometimes good. Sometimes bad. Last few visits were actually ok! They have a full menu and a lunch menu! Either menu is good. Always like their Alhambra Tacos! Try never to miss an opportunity to have one. Choice of beef or chicken. (Beef!). Lunch special with the Taco includes and enchilada and choice of rice or beans. MMM....good. I prefer their flour tortillas, so if you do too, you have to ask for them, or you will get corn. I have not found a bad thing on their menu (well, not in love with their salads).

I went to eat her a few weeks ago with my family. My wife is originally from Tucson and has been talking about LPS since the day I met her and how delicious the food was. She wasn't kidding. The food was delicious and I ended up cleaning up the kid's plates. The service was great. The servers and managers were present and attentive and we didn't wait long for the food. The seating can accommodate even the biggest of families in Tucson and the best part is you can see the hard working chefs making the food right in the middle of the business so it feels authentic and family-oriented. Five stars!

DON'T eat here. My mom got food poisoning from chicken fajitas. I was going to mention the limited menu options but there is no point given the fact that they serve food that makes people ill.

We came here as a family for Sunday Dinner. The service was fast and attentive. The chicken enchiladas were so good. The red chile was perfectly spicy. The mixto platter was so good and even better as left overs. We also got a carne asada burrito (not pictured) and that was a little dry. Wish it had like or something! The sangria tasted good but was very warm and the glass made it hard to mix the ice. Otherwise we always love the decor and will be back!

Stopped here for dinner midweek and didn't have to wait long for a table for 8. Happened to see not one but two sets of neighbors here as well so that was a fun coincidence. Loved the decor and service was good. The chips didn't taste as fresh as I remember but the salsa trio was nice for all spice levels. The sopapillas are grande size ;) Daughter loved her fried ice cream. We loved our sampler platters, tacos and tamales. Worth a stop if you're visiting Tucson
