Mikkeller Bar

Back in 2017, I came here quite commonly after work with work friends, and it was always a blast here with a great variety of beers to choose from.

Recently, in 2022, I came back for the first time, and it's almost as if nothing changed (okay, maybe different parts of the decor). This time, just grabbing a quick bite and drink from a spot close by with a friend (apologies for the blurry photos, will definitely take better ones next time!)

Great atmosphere, spacious and has plenty of bar setting and a lot of booths for larger groups.

Always a great spot to come back to. Recommended 5/5.

I was thrilled to find out Mikkeller was very close to my hotel. I have been to their location in Iceland. I highly recommend checking that one out too, if you get the chance.

We got a quick snack since we weren't that hungry and couple of beers. The fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Served with aioli and ketchup. The Mac and cheese had bacon in it and I would not recommend getting it. Bacon was fatty and over powered the Mac and cheese.

Even though we are from San Diego where Mikkeller is readily available we popped in this spot tie a beer. San Diego is full of breweries. San Francisco is short on breweries. Since my husband like to try different beer varieties we are always on the hunt for breweries when we travel.
The music was awesome our waiter was absent so we didn't stay long after the first beer. It's a cute place and if you want to chill and have a beer this might be your spot if you can track down a waiter.

We've been wanting to visit this place for a while. Located near union square this brewery is a great place to stop for a dinner & a drink -- or two.

They reserve large tables specifically for big groups; besides that, it's open seating. Our server, Daniel, was very attentive quick to take our orders & bring them out to our table. The restaurant & facilities are very clean, they have a large open area with plenty of seating & I absolutely loved the large neon sign.

The food was delicious! We ordered the Chongqing wings for the table, they were sooo yummy & crispy. As an entree I ordered the Mac n Cheese, it came out in a skillet, it was just as delicious as it looked; creamy, cheesy & very hot!

The beer was also very good, I ordered two of their wild ales/sours my favorite was the Deep Puddle Dynamics.

I wish they offered flight options & more of their beer on tap, most of them are in bottle or cans which you can order but I believe you have to purchase the entire bottle or 4-pack of cans in order to drink at the table. I would've much rather preferred to have been able to try a fresh pour or do a tasting.

After shopping around SF for the best beer options, I can honestly say that Mikkeller has the most robust menu in the city. Don't agree? Fight me.

They have more taps than you learned to count to in third grade and it ranges across every beer style you can imagine or even care about. As if that weren't enough, they have a full kitchen and can whip up plenty of tasty treats to help sop up that belly-o-booze whilst you destroy you liver in good company. It's spacious, clean and well kept with a friendly staff.

Really yummy spot for an afternoon drink and snack! We were there in the early afternoon so it was pretty empty and we had really great service.
Loved the burger, it wasn't too big and hit the spot for lunch/dinner combo. The fries were crispy and just right!

I tried a kettle sour and one other sour that were both quite tasty. I'd go back here!

Dropped by on a random weekday with couple of friends to celebrate the end of the year. When we got there, there was one person eating. Workers checked out vaccination cards and wore masks throughout the service.

I don't drink much, but I would say the workers there were kind enough to walk me through the menu. They gave me couple suggestions and asked if I would want to try it before ordering a cup. The food was good as well. It was a little hard to share with others as each of the dishes were more like a solo order than shared. I would say that the burger was pretty good.

Overall I would come to this place again, if I am with someone. The restaurant itself is warm and safe, but right outside, you can hear the homeless people. Getting an Uber to come was not an issue but I wouldn't recommend standing outside alone.

Awesome vibes. There is plenty of seating and the staff of attentive to all tables. This hole in the wall has 40+ beers on draft. I also tried the popular Nutmeg Mead. It was really chill and laid back, a great place for friends to hang and drink without feeling crowded.

We went here before a show at the Golden Gate. They have a pretty big selection to choose from - sandwiches, salads, etc - and they serve beer and wine. Lots of beer, very limited wine.
The neighborhood may not be the best, but inside is like another world - clean, bright, friendly-looking. Service was good, food was good. They also checked vax cards, which I appreciate.

So sad this place closed. Amazing service and drink selection. Low-key and comfortable atmosphere. Hope they open again!
