Second best soy latte I had in Japan, not too bad.

Additional notes:
* Modern and stylish coffee shop. Concrete walls, cement bars, light wood touches, some greenery. Super.
* Limited, but some vegan options available: carrot cake (clearly marked in menu as vegan), granola, cookies. Cake was moist, liked it, but carrot cake is not fully my thing. Matcha cookies were not very sweet.
* Staying true to style, bathroom is clean and modern.
* Chill vibe, didn't seem to care if locals or tourists stay and chat for an extended amount of time. There were business men having a meeting, and backpackers that looked like they had been there a while.

After many days of boring 7-11 breakfasts because few places are open early enough for us to see the sights first thing, we decided we had to make a special trip to get breakfast prior to going to Nijo-jo castle. We decided to stop here and we love this cafe! We had the Japanese breakfast and the granola breakfast- perfect for us since my partner prefers western breakfast and I like to try Japanese breakfast. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh, and delicious. My latte was stunning and my
partner's tea was delicious and served with hot milk. Highly recommend this little cafe!

* Great espresso in Japan? Yes! *

Over the years I've drawn the conclusion that I will never find a decent espresso in Japan. I've tried a variety of the spots recommended by people and they always seem to come up short. So I was hesitant to try one more, but I'm a glutton for espresso punishment I suppose!

But I was really pleasant surprised here. I ordered the "cereal set" (730 yen) which included unsweetened yogurt (another thing you don't find much of in Japan), housemade granola (not too sweet), berries, banana, and a coffee of your choice (espresso for me). They added a side of additional milk to soften up the granola if you wanted.

I was really impressed with the espresso. I can say it is the best one I've tried in Japan. There. I said it.

The yogurt was also of a good quality, and I enjoyed the housemade granola which was crunchy and not overly sweetened. They did a nice job slightly macerating the berries without making them overly sweet either.

A nice overall breakfast set, and quite reasonably priced given the quality!

I'll be back on my next visit to Kyoto for sure!

Cute spot in the middle of side streets. Really cool vibe, with lots of seating room for small or larger groups alike (1-5 pplz). Good for working or reading or catching up with friends.

Service was friendly and fast. They speak very good English.

I ordered a double espresso, and it was good. Not the best in comparison to Forum Kyoto or % but it was good. Worth grabbing a coffee here while in the area, although not worth coming to the area for it.

They sell cute post cards - I bought a couple as souvenirs.

Delicious coffee and sandwiches. We had the toasted egg and tomato cream cheese sandwiches. Sounds strange but it was delicious, the tomato and cream sandwich has a very Italian flavour and the egg was simple and tasty. Coming from Australia we have pretty high standards for coffee and this was equal or beyond. So smooth and tasty. The aesthetic of this cafe is also very cool.

Coffee is great. I had the pancake with salad on top and it's a good combination. Pancake is a little sweet so it's a good mix of sweet and savory. Recommend this combo over the toast.

Excellent lattes and excellent vibe. Cute shop with super high quality lattes.

This is a cozy little coffeeshop amidst the shopping center. Plenty of seating and friendly staff (and a very stylish toilet). They make really nice lattes, and have a small menu of food as well.

Very good coffee and breakfast option. We had soy latte and espresso house blend, granola with fruit & soy milk & toast & jam (the toast comes with a small soup which was good too!). Soy was perfect - smooth and good temperature. Peaceful little cafe with nice timber & concrete accents/decor located in a side lane. We would be back except that we are back on the road today.

Good coffee, and pretty good food. The pancake with salad was surprisingly delicious. My boyfriend got the granola and enjoyed it. Altogether it was ~1800 with coffee. Nice ambience, would return.
