I like a bit of tiki from time to time and have been to some great tiki joints world-wide. And, while I'd say Paris' first foray into this particular cocktail culture is baby steps, they are definitely heading in the right direction.
First off, the decor is spot on. They've tricked the place out with the appropriate masks, floats, thatched bar, kitschy murals and wood carving in every available corner.
Drinks-wise it's a bit more simple & straightforward. The small menu features the appropriate tiki drinks - although I would like to see a bigger selection of both drinks and rhums. Yet, even so, my drink was one of the better mai tais I've tried in Paris. Although I do agree with Adrian's comment that some drinks are booze-heavy while others feel so light you're left wondering if there's anything stronger than fruit juice in there. But that's not too unusual for tiki drinks - I'm sure many have met their downfall on a high-octane tiki drink that was "nothing but fruit juice"
I love the fact that it's in the area of the bar-heavy 10th, but just a little removed on a much less busy side street. So, if you're bar-hopping on Oberkampf and can't find something to suit your mood, you can easily make a five minute journey to a street that's not busting with student bars and find something a bit more quirky.
On an international scale, I'd probably give them 3 stars, but the fact that they are the only ones doing this on a full-on scale in Paris and still bringing it even without any competition, earns them an extra star in my estimation. I've been popping in on some tiki forums and die-hard local tiki fans seem to be delighted with the place, which I think says something.
Also of note: they're friendly on both sides of the bar. They seem to already be drawing in a pleasant & laid-back clientele and the bartenders/owners aim to please.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Michelle C.マンチェスター, イギリス55991892015年8月12日
Popped in here whilst on a Hen weekend in Paris. It was a Thursday night and thankfully for us (as it is very small inside) it was quite quiet. Between the 9 of us we managed to sample a good range of cocktails from the menu, all of which were delicious. The decor is suitably campy and kitsch and the bar staff were incredibly nice - they even let us bring Thai take out in as they don't serve food and we were starving.
My only (small) gripe was that my Zombie want served flaming!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katie M.ミルウォーキー, アメリカ合衆国234232016年9月21日
My husband is a self professed tiki fanatic, so obviously we had to try this place out. I was a little nervous because neither of us speak French, and this did not look like a tourist spot.
The bartender was very friendly to us and served us our cocktails. I ordered one that had Banana in it and I fell in love at first sip. My husband's drink was also fabulous. These were hands down the best tiki drinks I've ever had!
The owner is incredibly hospitable and speaks fluent English. My husband of course had to buy one of their tiki mugs that are made in small batches just around the corner from this place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tara G.Bellevue, アメリカ合衆国01342019年5月21日
Ok, so maybe this wasn't on your " Paris " list, but this place is so worth the stop. The drinks are a work of art. The bartenders are friendly and fun to watch. They accommodated all my questions and helped me find the perfect drink.

While in Paris for Sven Kirstie's Tiki Pop in Paris show, I had to check out the first Tiki bar in Paris, France. I was not disappointed and the drinks would make Jeff Berry proud.

Great music and delicious cocktails! We especially liked the Missionary's Downfall and the Painkiller. Happy hour is a great deal--some cocktails are 6 or 8 euro, which I think is pretty cheap for tiki drinks, especially compared with Dirty Dick in Pigalle, another tiki bar.
The music and decor are spot on. I just wish it hadn't been quite so dark so you could see what a cool place it is. Le Tiki Lounge is a nice place to relax and chat without having to fight for a spot. The staff was friendly too. Can't wait to go back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave M.Woodside, アメリカ合衆国10472013年10月6日
Very cool spot I visited off a recommendation from some people from La Mechanique. The decor is perfect -- I want my hypothetical basement of my house to look like this one day. The soundtrack was awesome and it went from completely sleepy to fully packed and crazy in the span of an hour. Paris works fast. Met some great people and the drinks were tasty, and the bartenders friendly. Definitely a great spot.

I went to Paris' first tiki lounge to see what was up. For those of you who haven't been to one, tiki bars are by turns venerable and fun, busy over the top polynesian style bars, often with cheesy decor and bad umbrella laden drinks. The fact that France colonized places like Tahiti makes it a bit of a surprise that noone had thought of opening one before. Anyway, it seemed fun enough, the drinks were cheap at 8€ (some seemingly without alcohol, others fire breath inducing) and the deco was pretty funky and the bartender owners were friendly. I liked it. Not sure I4d go back often though, but I think as it gets a bit of a time worn patina, it could be pretty cool.
