It's a strange combination of a children's disco with aperitifo, and a semi expensive restaurant, so we sat in the noice of a disco, and even though it was non smoking people smoked, we left after main course and found dessert somewhere else.
The 2 dishes we got was ok, but not for the price.
The bread was from yesterday or perhaps been cut this morning dry and tasteless.
The waitress spoke little to no English, and in the middle of our meal the started to take away Parmesan from our table ??
Definitely sub standard for Milan even if the price was 1/2.
Would not recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Matteo M.ミラノ, イタリア361412862017年7月27日
Not for dinner. Please. Come on. The food we have been given was just so below average for milano standards, it was awful. We got a few different dishes and they were all over cooked, super savoury and bland at the same time. Not exactly what you would expect in Italy where food is usually simply amazing. Also the beers we got given were not good at all. Tasted like water and not like beer at all. Disappointing.
This is just a place for some cocktails after dinner and that's it. It's quite nice in summer, but definitely do not expect something from them when it comes to food.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave M.CO, アメリカ合衆国952212017年2月25日
What restaurant are the five star reviews from? The restaurant we visited served a disgusting imitation of Italian food in a cheesy atmosphere with terrible service. This was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had the displeasure to experience.
First, the table bread was inedibly hard, like it had been sitting out for days. They didn't have the wine we ordered (you can only order by the bottle) and the alternative presented was a nasty bubbly Barbera that tasted like bad soda. We got slimy, elastic prosciutto and melon. The pasta was undercooked and the mushrooms must have come out of a can with thick salty gravy. It was hard to tell what was in the endive salad because it was sliced up in tiny bits and drowning in anchovy dressing that left a gross taste in your mouth.
When asked how everything was, I was honest. The server didn't offer any apology. He just laughed, so I had to tell him I wasn't kidding. I think he knew the product he delivered was crap so he just slunk away.
Avoid this restaurant like the plague.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cassandra T.ニューヨーク, アメリカ合衆国8171241602013年1月6日
Remember that phrase, "don't judge a book by its cover"? Well, it definitely applies at this restaurant. You are in for a surprise when you come to Trattoria Toscana.
Based on the photos that people have posted of this establishment so far, it looks like a dump. But walk in, walk through the narrow hallway, past the bathroom and the kitchen, and you are transported to an absolutely adorable candle-lit garden-like restaurant with a mini fountain in the middle. So romantic.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Milan; great atmosphere (as described above), good food, good price, and friendly staff.
Recommended dishes:
-Spaghetti with tomato sauce. Sounds plain... but absolutely divine, and hands down the BEST I've ever had. Maybe it's because I haven't tried a lot in Italy... but no matter. Trattoria Toscana does it great.
-Pesto lasagna. Not your average lasagna but the pesto is really good!
The seafood spaghetti was not the best I've had, but it was solid. I also got the sea bass to share with my friend, and it was pretty bland and passable. They do good pasta, but everything else is mediocre. And everything is priced extremely reasonably! Average plate of pasta is under 10 euros.
The staff here are really nice and accommodating. My friend was indecisive about two dishes, and the waitress just let him have one for free, "so we could all try it, *wink." So nice of her!
Highly recommend this place for a group dinner (there is a lot of seating), or a romantic date!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dylon W.Brooklyn, アメリカ合衆国4261131042016年7月28日
Discovered this place randomly on my trip in Milano. It's definitely a unique and quirky spot not too far from the Duomo and other attractions. Despite its good location, you can't see the awesome garden just from glancing in. Don't let the front discourage you. Keep going through the back hall and you will see the oasis that awaits. The vibe is kind of hipster, mix matched, and colorful. It seems to be full of mostly locals. The prices here are so reasonable which also add to the allure. My friend and I got pasta dishes - both of which were delicious. We also got dessert and it was delicious. It was a custard type pie. I can't remember the exact name, but I do highly suggest it.

The service was good the food was good, we really wanted lasagna which yelp had listed as best lasagna in our area. They do not have lasagna. The veal Milanese was the best thing we had

I would have to be able to give 2.5 stars, a 5 out of 10 is definitely the right grade for this reataurant. The risotto i had was fine and our dessert was quite tasty. However, my friend got the saddest looking caprese salad ever and the staff wasn't friendly at all. They didn't even bother to hide their disinteresst in us. It was obvious they didn't like that we didn't speak italian, seeing as the people who sat next to us were treated much more appropriatelly. The looks of the restaurant were cheesy and charming, but i wouldn't recommend going here.

Such a gem in the middle of Milan!
It's great because a lot of locals go here. The first time I went I couldn't even find it! I walked by the place multiple times before realizing that the restaurant was the one hidden between shops with what seemed like a really cheap-end store front!
As soon as you walk past the initial, bare room, you enter into what seems like a little piece of heaven. At night, the lighting in this place is beautiful! The food is delicious. I have had multiple dishes here but the Spaghetti alle melanzane (spaghetti with eggplant) and the gnocchi al pomodoro (gnocchi with tomato sauce) are my favorite. Simple, yet so tasty. I have since moved out of Milan but when I go back to visit, I definitely have to stop by here! It's a nice change from the hundreds of international restaurants in the city and a great reminder as to why the Italian cuisine is one of the best in the world!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
