THis is the only undercover part of Stevenage Town Centre. It is quite small, I would say that it has around 40 shops, but it is quite pleasant to browse around. It has the usual High Street names, ie Dorothy Perkins, River Island, Burtons, Claires Accessories, Thorntons etc. they also ocaasionally have small stalls set out in the middle selling gifty type items. They do special events in the school holidays and to promote other keys times, ie Halloween or Christmas. It has an undercover carpark attached, which is not too expensive and is good for when it is raining. There are two coffeee shops in the middle, my favourite is Esquires.
All in all, this is a good place to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon, for some retail therapy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (addam…)ダブリン, アイルランド171282008年11月17日
Good little shopping centre in stevenage. It has a variety of shops from Claires to Adams and various coffee shops and food places.
There are usually free standing stall in the centre of the shopping centre that sell nice little trinkets or coming up to christmas great christmas presents.
Being undercover makes it very attractive when raining etc, and it can get very busy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (saraht…)Cambridge, カナダ2452008年11月19日
The overall quality of shops in Westgate is cheap and affordable, but sometimes verging on tacky. The air of many of the shops is filled with the smell of cheap materials and plastic, with the floor littered with items from the shelves which staff have failed to pick up.
The variety of the shops is pleasing, with something for all the family to find enjoyable on a Saturday afternoon (if you are patient enough to push your way through the crowds). Clothes stores, shoe shops, perfume shops, chocolate shops, toy shops, pet shops - a good mix of choices. However, there is not much variety in quality of the shops, and if you were looking for something a little more upmarket you would be better off venturing the 15 minutes to Welwyn Garden City, where the shopping centre there is more ordered, less hectic and noticeably in better upkeep, with a few more 'upmarket' shops for those special presents which you wont be able to find without a struggle in Westgate.
However, if a fun afternoon of shopping is what you want, with everything in close proximity, and you are not too fussed about what you buy, give Westgate a try. To finish on a positive note - there is a very cheap café in the middle of Westgate which is great for a shopping break, a cuppa and a nice slice of cake (which wont break the bank!)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (amylou…)Hitchin, イギリス114422009年1月16日
This is a nice, indoor shopping centre, with a good range of shops. Most of them are clothes shops, including Dorothy Perkins, MK One, Adams Kids, Dolcis Shoes, Bay Trading and Moss. There is also a jewellers, bag shop, post office, hairdressers, claire's accessories, key cutters and bakers as well. There are lifts and stairs up to the multi-story car park, and a couple of nice open-plan cafes in the middle of the centre. It's great for shopping in the rain because it's indoor.
Compared to many indoor shopping malls, Westgate is relatively small which makes it easy to navigate through and you can't really get lost.
It is kept in a nice, clean condition & has public toilets.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype ユーザー (sazpag…)Stevenage, イギリス2492008年11月26日
. I just love this place. I know I shouldn't but I can't resist it! It's only a very small outlet that's situated inside the Stevenage Westgate Shopping Centre in the town centre, but they carry a perfectly reasonable range of stock. They tend to specialise in quality and variety rather than larger gift sets or bumper boxes like the bigger outlets do.some of the items they have on sale here are truly amazing and you'd be hard pushed to find the same quality anywhere else.I also like how you can get personalisations on gifts at Easter and Christmas on the spot - the staff just write on your chosen gift chocolates using special edible ink. It's a chocolate shop, what possible disadvantage could there be?

This small shopping centre in Stevenage is a nice bright place to pop into and warm up from the elements whilst looking at more purchases. You can rest a while with a coffee at esquires, buy sweet treats at Thorntons or buy clothing and shoes at various stores. There are often little stalls located in the centre too selling jewellery, artwork and hand-made items.

Nice little shopping centre, has a nice feel to it at christmas, when they have a santas grotto and also little competitions for the kids. There are usually little stalls selling trinkets which are usually overpriced but worth a look.

Has shops which other bigger shopping centres has, some shops have closed down however it is quite easy to walk around. Public toilets in the premises aswell as access to the multi storey carpark. Westgate can get busy at weekends.
