I've been coming here for years, since 1999, and I must say everything since my first visit has been excellent. Every dish has been served beautifully and the flavor has always been "spot on". You can really tell from the flavors how fresh all the ingredients are.
The service, from the main dining room to the bar counter has always been "5 star" worthy. Today, it just seemed they even turned that up a notch; I just don't know how they can get any better.
Since 1999, many more "fine dine" restaurants have opened up in the City, and many "celebrity chef" chains have sprung up around the country. Case in point, Michael Mina, another local superstar chef who has gone on to bigger and "better" things; his local restaurants have definitely gone down a notch in both quality and service.
Not here at Gary Danko, he still comes to his restaurant daily and oversee every aspect relating to customer satisfaction, and it shows in the quality of the food and the service. Michelin be damned! Gary Danko is and always will be 5-STARS to me!
