A little preface- my fiancée is half Lebanese, and her aunt runs a Lebanese catering business, so we have both had plenty of Lebanese food in the past, and high expectations to go with it. Layla's actually measured up surprisingly well. Its right on King Street near route 1, so its easy to get to, you just need to actually find parking if you drove in. Its a lot larger than it appears from the street- the front is a bar area with a few tables, but there is a large dining room in back. The staff was extremely friendly and quick too.
The menu features all the typical fare- we started off with a few appetizers, including hummus, areyas and halloumi. I'm not a big hummus fan no matter how good it is, but the areyas was excellent- great blend of spices and grilled to perfection. The halloumi was delicious, fried just right. For the entrée we split the chicken shawarma platter. Nothing mind blowing here, except the garlic sauce. Wow, that was good garlic sauce. Actually the yogurt sauce with the areyas was really good too. I may come back here just for the sauce.
Its not the cheapest, but its still reasonable, and a great place to go to in Old Town.
