So, it's supposed to rain on Saturday but I promised my girlfriend we'd go on a really romantic date.  Generally she's into outdoorsy things, so I figured we could go on a hike and have a picnic and that would be great.  But that's not so great in the rain.  I was hoping to do something a little unique, a little special, so the usual romantic dinner isn't going to cut it this weekend.  Anyone have any ideas?  Sleeper spots around Boston or out of town that would fit the bill.  Help!  Please!

Daniel, that actually sounds lovely. Better than sex on a beach. Horrible idea.
Joe, you could take her on a midnight walk through the Forest Hills or Mount Auburn cemetery. It would involve some fence jumping, but a sense of danger heightens things. ;)

Taking a ferry is also lots of fun. Good restaurants/shops in P-Town. Or lots of islands near Boston for exploring (bostonislands.com). Which reminds me, I want to get a group together and do that!

Don't forget poison ivy in some *very* embarrassing spots.

Mass Audubon is doing an evening canoe on the Charles at Natick's Broadmoor sanctuary. You'd be paddling around at sunset, and a drizzle would hopefully keep mosquitos down.

Look - a great blue heron (in my...)

See, this is what I'm talking about!  bostonislands.com is sweeeeeeet.  Anold Arboretum is a great tip, so is the Mass Audubon canoe trip.  Thanks!!
