Hidden gem at the 3rd floor of its building location, this was our first and most at amazing sushi experience in Shinjuku!

The service here is amazing, the sushi chef and the crew made sure that what you order gets to your table on time.

Very fresh and delicious sashimi.

There is a 1.5 hour stay limit but the ambiance is very comfortable even for us tourists.

Highly recommended!

Note to self: there is a big difference between Shrimp and Shirako tempura due to pronunciation variations but no regrets

Great service, sat at the counter, easy to order, and overall a great experience.

Tried a couple of things such as fried oysters, eel, Kama toro, tuna, and small items on the menu. Everything was good and fresh. However, it cannot compare to my experience eating sashimi/fresh ones I had at Osaka's Kuromon Ichiba Market when it comes to quality, quantity, and price.

It's hard to find because it's not street level; but, once you arrive via the elevator to the 3rd floor you are transported into a classic Japanese sushi lover's dream! The fish is fresh, the ordering process is simple, and the food comes out of the kitchen in a rapid fire succession depending on the complexity of your order.

The waitstaff were also wonderful to interact with, everyone understands English for most meal requests and did I mention the freshness of the food! My travel companion and I were so glad we found this place when we asked Yelp for the Top-rated sushi places in Shinjuku. I can't recommend this place any more; hence, this glowing review. We are in Shinjuku on vacation and decided to give this place a try. The service was amazing and the sushi was a home run! There were 7 people in our party and we all agreed that this was our best meal so far after 4 days in Tokyo. It's affordable by American standards and some of the best sushi I've ever eaten. If you are visiting, I highly recommend this establishment.

Everything we ate here was delicious! Easy to order and figure out the menu with an English option and prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. Would definitely recommend.

So we decided to try Sushizanmai from all the great reviews. It is located in a building on the 3rd floor. It seems lots of Sushizanmai restaurants are inside a building and not storefronts.

We were seated right away and sat at the sushi bar and ordered through a tablet in English and got sushi pretty quickly. These rolls looked a lot like ones you can get in the States. I guess that's why the prices of these were much higher. It came out to be around $70 for the 3 of us.

In my opinion, it was good, but not great. I think we had fresher and less expensive sashimi/sushi in Osaka's fish market. This was pretty pricey for the amount of sushi we got as well. Maybe it was this particular location unless all locations are priced this high.

It's located on the 3rd floor of a building and has friendly service. The sushi is fresh and delicious, but the price is higher than other spots in Shinjuku. You order through a tablet so it's very convenient.

Nearby Takashimaya basement takeaway is far superior and better price. Meager slices of sashimi on sushi. To us, something was off with their sushi rice. Served boiled scraps of tuna to go with ordered sake, then tried to charge ¥285 x 2 for each. Much better sushi in our NYC suburb.

Great sushi. Very easy to order from tablet. There's an option for the English menu which we appreciated. Excellent service and excellent sushi.

Outstanding fish quality and flavor for a very reasonable price! Be sure to check their daily specials or be adventurous and order their Sushizanmai deluxe, which provides you with an amazing assortment of delicious seafood over silky smooth Japanese rice. The slice of eel must have been over 6 inches long and incredible taste and texture! It also came with a large bowl of their miso soup, which was almost a meal!
Save room for another treat: chawan mushi was filled with an assortment of scallops, shrimp with a soft steamed egg. Everything seemed so much better than any US sushi restaurant!
Definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant!
