Well dang. We were starving and really craving sushi but I forgot to make reservations for someplace before our trip. Luckily, the concierge at Keio had Plaza Hotel is amazing and got us a reservation here for the same day, we just had to wait a few hours.

I think I've heard you can only get a reservation here through the Keio Plaza Hotel, but don't quote me on that. But if you're able to get a reservation to eat here, do it! It was my boyfriend's birthday dinner so we splurged a little.

We got the Omakase and it was worth it! Every bite of sushi was fresh and just as wonderful as we had been hoping! One of the best uni and ika we've ever had, ahh I want to go back to Japan so bad! For dessert they gave us fresh sliced pears that reminded us of those gold Harry and David pears, so soft and perfect.

To top it off, they did have Yamazaki 12 AND with the exchange rate right now it was super super worth it for my boyfriend to splurge and get a double neat.

If you want an authentic and top notch sushi dinner experience, come here!

Very good sushi experience. The chef takes their time in preparation and explains what you are having. Quality and variety of the sushi is quite good. Not quite Michelin rated but it's very good sushi.

The slightly grilled o-toro was amazing.

Would highly recommend giving this place a stop if you are in the area.

My boyfriend and I tried to do a walk-in but they were full so we made reservations for two days after. We got there right when they opened and they seated us at the bar in front of one of the chefs. The cheapest lunch option was roughly ~$37/per person and came with 9 pieces of fresh sushi and miso soup.

Having just been to Tsukiji fish market, we weren't blown away by the sushi. but the quality of the fish + the sauce/rice they use far exceeds the usual sushi meals we have in the US.

We made a lunch reservation about a month in advance via someone who lives inJapan. During lunch there are certain sets available that range from about 5k yen to 20k (I think).

We got the 9 sushi set for about 7.5k yen. The fish was all very fresh and delicious. I think it was our favorite sushi of the trip.

The sushi chef speaks English (we were the only non Japanese people dining there though) and was very friendly.

The room was fairly small and intimate... Basically a few seats surrounding the chef. Service was excellent. Takes credit card.

You can't really leave Japan without an Omakase meal. Kyubey is a top rated Omakase restaurant in Tokyo.

I ordered the 12 pieces with miso soup. I'm a picky sushi eater. The otoro, toro and uni left a lasting memory in my head, BUT I've had the same quality at other restaurants in the United States. The other pieces were above average. This is the first time I tasted warm sushi rice. I was not a fan of the miso soup.

Everything about this experience was fantastic. I've eaten a decent amount of sushi but I'm nowhere near a connoisseur so Kyubey was the perfect introduction to what the upper bounds of sushi experiences could be.

The staff were courteous to a fault, the space formal but friendly (it didn't even register that it was in a hotel), and the whole meal felt like eating from a grandfather who also happened to be extremely good at their craft. You find yourself wanting to take photos of every dish, but being in the moment and enjoying it with all senses was more than enough.

Don't listen to the naysayers who say there are better omakase experiences out there. There probably are, but this place is approachable and affordable, which might not be the case at other places.

One of the greatest sushi experience I have ever had. Place was not easy to get a reservation, so I decided to go through my hotel concierge. I set a reservation right when it opened on the weekday to avoid the busy times. My friend and I were to only people there in the entire sushi bar during that day.

We decided to go with the cheaper and smaller omakase set, since we did not want to get too full. The sushi literally melted in your mouth, not matter what piece you had. I loved the tuna pieces (choo & o-toro) and the pieced of free water eel. The uni was also spectacular, not too fishy, and buttery soft. We had about 12-14 pieces of sushi in total. The chef was lovely to talk to and very accommodating!

Nice omakase, very intimate setting on 7th floor of Keio Plaza Hotel, main tower. Expensive.

Great service. We sat at the counter. Very comfortable. Exquisite grilled eel 2 ways. Would definitely visit again if staying at Keio.

Overall pretty good place but for the price and lack of ambiance I don't think it wasn't worth the money. This is a branch of the famous Kyubey in ginza (which I haven't been to) which from what I understand is truly one of the top spots in the world for sushi, the branch didn't live up.
