This place this is the antenna shop of Baird Brewing
Baird brewing is a frontier of Japanese craft beer
Things about Baird is it's ok, nothing special.
I love the beer there and I enjoy it.
Antenna America is walking distance but little far from here so around Kannai, Bashamichi area this place is Da Bomb!
What?! Their Yuzu beer was sold out. When I went to pay, I found the bottle in the fridge.
Taste: Hmmm good!?! I had a beer fleight of White, Wabi sabi, and something fruity. I like white one the best. I wanted to try the Yuzu so bad.
Price: Expensive. Beer flight of 3 tiny beer ¥1000=$10 A morning set is over priced.
Customer service: Very very good.
Location: 5 minutes walk to Bashamichi subway station or 10 minutes to Kannai station.
Tip: If you go there often, purchase their stamp card. It's about 20%off. You must pay ¥10000=$100 up front tho.
I wanna try their BBQ someday soon:)
When I left the states, not inly I thought I have to say goodbye to the country but also thought that I had to say goodbye to Taco Tuesday.
But when I heard that this place offers taco Tuesday, I jumped up 'n down out of joy.
There is only one kind of taco served. So far, I've had chicken and pulled pork taco.
Then wash it down w/ gorgeous microbrew beers.
Then reminisce good time back in the states.
My favorite time of the month(I come here monthly now)
If you live in Japan and cannot grill, BBQ or smoke your own meat, this place is a great place for beer and decent BBQ. If you are visiting Japan, own your own smoker and know how to cook - the beer here is decent but the BBQ isn't anything to write home about.
I am really biased on this one since (a) I own a smoker, (b) I know how to BBQ my own brisket, and (c) I am from the South. I ordered the 3 meat BBQ with the pork, ribs, and brisket. For the 2,200 yen price - I was expecting a pretty decently large plate of BBQ. For $22 in the South you get enough to feed a family of 4 for BBQ. Unfortunately, I got 2 pork ribs, 2 cuts of pork, 2 cuts of brisket with a little cole slaw and a piece of toast. The menu stated garlic toast, so I was expecting a crisp piece of French bread covered with fresh crushed garlic, butter, and maybe a little cheese. Instead I got a piece of table bread that was buttered with a dash of garlic powder. Kind of made me sad.
The brisket had no smoke rings, was super tender, but was a brisket I would have been made at myself for making. I'm used to multiple rings of color and hits of flavor from inside out. Instead you get a really tender soft piece of meat that you disguise with sauce.
The ribs were pork ribs, cooked soft, layered with BBQ sauce. It was ok, its decent sauce so no real complaints here.
The pork wasn't overcooked.
All in all, if I go back, I'll eat somewhere else and just drink beer here. Its a fun little joint and great for ex-Pats who can't cook.
I ate the rib plate and was not disappointed. Two tender, juicy, smoked ribs with potato salad , vegetables and pickle as my sides. We started at a small table down stairs ( it can be a problem to travel in groups in Japan due to most establishments being fairly small). Are party of six was moved up stairs when a bigger table became available. They have a large assortment of beer and ciders on tap. Went for a beer but stayed because of the food.
Being from Texas, It takes a lot to impress me in regards to BBQ but this place surprised me. The brisket was good but a little dry. Great flavor though. I have to say, the ribs blew me away. Top 5 I've ever had. Super moist, fall off the bone, and perfect smoke. They have different sauces that were all pretty good. They have a bunch of beer on tap, but I don't drink beer so can't vouch for that. They do have whiskey so there's that. Traveling on business and I have dinner here 2 nights a week.
We only stopped in for beer so no review on the food this time. It did smell amazing in this restaurant and I imagine I will come back soon to try the smoked meats.
My wife and I tried the jubilation ale, Japanese pale ale, and their wit. All were good but not great. They have many others so we'll probably give it a ship again to sample some others.
Also, beers are quite pricey. ¥1000 for 500ml "pint". 3 beer flight is also ¥1000 but a little smaller in total size.
Being a serious craft beer lover, I will go back to try some more of their beer and the smoked brisket!
I like coming here for the smoked chicken wings.
Everything we have ordered food wise is good, a little bit pricy, but what do you expect for American style BBQ in Japan? Normally I would say the beer is the main attraction, but I am not particularly a fan of Baird Brewing...I find their beer unremarkable.
The place has tons of room on the second floor, I imagine the third floor is the same. The wait staff is OK, not the friendliest, but not particularly bad.
If I am nearby and craving wings this is high on the list for a stop.
Common descriptions of ribs are "fall off the bone" or "fork tender." It gives me no pleasure to describe the ribs here as "fork and knife resistant." Got the rib and chicken combo. Wish the chicken was the dark half as the white stuff was dry. Rib tasted ok, but texture was not ideal. Beer is good. Sadness
